Inspired by parents who fought for those with no voice, I’m drawn to roles of women empowering or oppressing the expression of others. I perform the compassionate and intelligent, the victim and villainess.
My credits include the role of Dr. Pelz opposite lead actress Karen Young in Julie Reichert’s “Warrior Woman.” I played Sue Ellen, the tortured psychopath, in AJ Brown’s film noir, "One Way Home." In “Blood Relatives,” I guest starred in S1 Ep6, "The Ties That Bind" on Investigation Discovery channel. As Maria Celia, I performed the lead in "Two Sisters and A Piano," a Pulitzer Prize play by Nilo Cruz. It's an incredible story of two sisters imprisoned in their own home as a result of speaking out through creativity against a repressive Cuban political regime.
Daughter of a civil rights attorney and a nurse, we moved several times while I grew up in the Southwest, Northeast and on the West Coast. I love meeting new people, experiencing new places and cultures.....learning about humanity. I am a traveler, a yogini, a trendspotter and a storyteller. Enjoying a wanderlust approach to a global life, I savor moments of beauty, creativity and the luxury of enoughness at home in New Mexico.
Sylvie - I just wanted to take a moment and tell you how much I appreciated your great performance, solid work ethic and professionalism. ~ Tom Carroll, Writer and Director
Sylvie was professional on and off set and worked well with the cast and crew. She was a joy to work with, and consistently delivered performances at the director’s request. I would work with her again and again if I have the chance. ~ Rita Maynette, Producer
